    Responsibilities

    Mechanical Engineer

     

     

    • 5-7 years total design experience involving equipment and preparing construction documents w/3-4 years design experience in Rotating Equipment including experience in Rotating Equipment-Aux , Systems, (seals, couplings, cooling, lubrication, Vibration monitoring.

     

    • Chemical, Power and Refinery design experience.

     

    • Ability to work independently or function as a project lead, including: planning, coordination, scheduling, MH estimates, technical & construction document generation,(checking / quality review), on rotating equipment and non-rotating equipment projects.

     

    • Ability to develop, Interpret and review utility & Process P&Ids and line designation tables.

     

    • General working knowledge of fixed equipment, Mechanical systems, (piping, hydraulics, pneumatics), Metallurgy and welding.

     

    • Ability to perform detailed analysis and comprehensive calculations related to Rotating and Fixed Equipment and Mechanical Systems (piping stress analysis in desirable.

     

    • Able to develop Engineering Datasheets, Specifications, Manufacturer testing requirements and Construction Scope of work documents.

     

    • Able to complete Technical bid Evaluations, Vendor Submittal reviews.

     

    • Able to assist clients troubleshooting Installed Equipment and Mechanical Systems.

     

    • General understanding of ASME, NFPA, API, NEMA, welding and other common industry guidelines.

     

    • Technical Knowledge and functional experience with Rotating equipment, including, motors, engines and turbines, (steam, combustion up to 6,000Hp.

     

    • Familiar with rotational and lateral analysis, when to specify, how to review for Turbines and Compressors.

     

    • Serve as a Rotating Equipment Department Resource to support all projects as needed.

     

    • Ability to develop Mechanical Design standards/guidelines, review technical articles for applicability / use and develop technical training programs for department related to Rotating Equipment.

     

    • Ability to travel to site as required for project needs or meet with clients.

     

    • PE preferred, Eligible to obtain is required.

    Qualifications

    Mechanical Engineer

     

    4 year ABET accredited mechanical engineer degree
    Knowledge of Engineering Graphics Programs (AutoCAD or Microstation)
    Knowledge of Fluid Mechanics, Statics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Machine Design

    Ability to work under the direction of the Sr. Mechanical Staff.
